OVERVIEW
Rhinoplasty (nose surgery) is used to improve the overall appearance of the nose. This can be achieved through reshaping the bridge, tip and nostrils of the nose to reduce its overall size and create a more aesthetically pleasing appearance.
Rhinoplasty can be performed as either an open or closed procedure. Open rhinoplasty is used for major nose reshaping while closed procedures are used for minor procedures. Both are effective for improving the confidence of patients who are self conscious about the appearance of their nose and can also used to treat birth defects and breathing difficulties.

ON RHINOPLASTY
I always take a very personalized approach to rhinoplasty. I think it’s always important to establish exactly what results the patient wants to achieve so that I can advise them and make them aware of the best approach. In most cases, patients will have quite a specific vision in mind for how they want their nose to look post-op. This is why I always spend a good deal of time talking with each patient beforehand so I can be confident that the results achieved will be satisfactory.
The final results of rhinoplasty can be appreciated when the swelling and bruising has completely subsided. The final appearance of the procedure will depend on the extent of the work. Sometimes it can take a while before the final result of the procedure is apparent as the new nasal contour fully refines.
The results of rhinoplasty are permanent since it’s an operation that’s usually not related to age as is often the case with facelifts and necklifts.
PATIENT STORY – SUCCESSFUL RHINOPLASTY SURGERY BY DR. FADI CONSTANTINE
When I was 23 I had a bad car wreck and hurt my nose so badly that the septum was visibly crooked. At the time, I couldn’t afford surgery, so I put it off. I hated my crooked nose. Friends said they didn’t really notice. But I did. It never stopped bothering me. Over the years, my breathing got worse until I couldn’t breathe properly out of my left nostril. I kept thinking “next year I’ve got to get this fixed.” Years passed. My 43rd birthday came and went.

The two most important things that make a person suitable for a brow lift procedure are a. not having any pre-existing medical conditions that might impede the healing process, and b. having a healthy and realistic attitude when it comes to the results that can be achieved.

HOW LONG DOES THIS PROCEDURE TAKE?
The duration of the procedure varies depending on the specific procedure, but typically takes approximately 2-4 hours.
WHAT TYPE OF ANESTHESIA DO YOU USE?
We use general anesthesia for this procedure.
WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS OF THIS PROCEDURE?
Temporary side effects may include swelling and mild bleeding from the nose.
HOW MUCH RECOVERY TIME IS REQUIRED?
Patients can typically return to work within 1-3 weeks, with more strenuous activities possible within 2-3 weeks.
WHEN WILL I SEE THE FINAL APPEARANCE?
All swelling usually subsides within 1-2 months, and you will be able to see the final appearance of the procedure at that time.
HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS LAST?
The results of the procedure are permanent.
